No se detectan anticuerpos para coccidioides.

Significado de los resultados anormales:

Los resultados anormales significan que los anticuerpos contra coccidioides immitis están presentes, lo cual quiere decir que usted tiene o tuvo una infección.

Se puede repetir el examen varias semanas después para detectar un aumento en el título (concentración de anticuerpos), lo cual ayuda a confirmar una infección activa.

En general, a medida que empeora la infección, mayor es el título, excepto en personas con sistemas inmunitarios debilitados.

Se pueden presentar resultados falsos positivos en pacientes con otras enfermedades micóticas, como histoplasmosis y blastomicosis, y resultados falsos negativos en personas que presentan masas pulmonares solitarias por coccidioidomicosis.
