Valores normales:

La ausencia del anticuerpo frente a los receptores acetilcolínicos (o menos de 0,05 nmoles) en el torrente sanguíneo es lo normal.

Nota: nmol = nanomol

Significado de los resultados anormales:

La presencia del anticuerpo acetilcolinesterasa en la sangre de personas que tienen síntomas de miastenia grave sustenta el diagnóstico; sin embargo, la ausencia de estos anticuerpos no excluye esta afección. Cerca del 10 al 15% de las personas con miastenia grave no muestra signos de este anticuerpo en la sangre.
