Valores normales:

El rango normal es de 18,5 a 28,5 U/g Hb (unidades por gramo de hemoglobina).

Es importante tener en cuenta que los valores normales varían de un laboratorio a otro.

Significado de los resultados anormales:

Un resultado anormal sugiere la presencia de galactosemia, pero se tienen que hacer exámenes adicionales para confirmar el diagnóstico.

Si un niño tiene galactosemia, se debe consultar rápidamente a un especialista en genética. El niño debe ponerse inmediatamente en una dieta sin leche, lo cual significa que no debe consumir ni leche materna ni leche animal.
