En los adultos, estas moléculas de hemoglobina conforman los siguientes porcentajes de la hemoglobina total:
- Hgb A1: 95% a 98%
- Hgb A2: 2% a 3%
- Hgb F: 0.8% a 2%
- Hgb S: 0%
- Hgb C: 0%
En los bebés y los niños, estas moléculas de hemoglobina conforman los siguientes porcentajes de la hemoglobina total:
- Hgb F (recién nacido): 50% a 80%
- Hgb F (6 meses): 8%
- Hgb F (después de 6 meses): 1% a 2%
Significado de los resultados anormales:
La presencia de niveles significativos de hemoglobinas anormales puede indicar:
- Enfermedad por hemoglobina C
- HemoglobinopatÃa rara
- Anemia drepanocÃtica
Este examen también se puede llevar a cabo si el médico sospecha la enfermedad llamada talasemia .
