Valores normales:

  • Conteo de GR (var铆a con la altitud):
    • hombres: 4.7 a 6.1 millones de c茅lulas/mcL
    • mujeres: 4.2 a 5.4 millones de c茅lulas/mcL
  • Conteo de GB: 4,500 a 10,000 c茅lulas/mcL
  • Hematocrito (var铆a con la altitud):
    • hombres: 40.7 a 50.3 %
    • mujeres: 36.1 a 44.3 %
  • Hemoglobina (var铆a con la altitud):
    • hombres: 13.8 a 17.2 gm/dL
    • mujeres: 12.1 a 15.1 gm/dL
  • VCM: 80 a 95 femtolitro
  • HCM: 27 a 31 pg/c茅lula
  • CHCM: 32 a 36 gm/dL

(c茅lulas/mcL = c茅lulas por microlitro; gm/dL = gramos por decilitro; pg/cel = picogramos por c茅lula).

Un conteo de gl贸bulos blancos por debajo de lo normal se denomina leucopenia y puede deberse a:

  • Enfermedades vasculares del col谩geno/autoinmunitarias como lupus eritematoso sist茅mico
  • Insuficiencia de la m茅dula 贸sea debido, por ejemplo, a infecci贸n, tumor, radiaci贸n o fibrosis
  • Enfermedad del h铆gado o del bazo

Los conteos altos de gl贸bulos blancos se denominan leucocitosis y pueden resultar de:

  • Enfermedades infecciosas
  • Enfermedad inflamatoria (como artritis reumatoidea o alergia)
  • Leucemia
  • Estr茅s f铆sico o emocional severo
  • Da帽o tisular (como quemaduras)

Los valores bajos de hemoglobina pueden indicar:

  • Anemia (diversos tipos)
  • P茅rdida de sangre
