Cuáles Son Los Riesgos:
Un examen de sangre simple generalmente es seguro. En general, los riesgos pueden abarcar:
- Sangrado excesivo (raro)
- Desmayo o sensación de mareo
- Hematoma (acumulación de sangre debajo de la piel)
- Infección (un riesgo leve en cualquier momento que se presente ruptura de la piel)
Las venas y arterias varÃan de tamaño de un paciente otro y de un lado del cuerpo a otro, razón por la cual obtener una muestra de sangre de algunas personas puede resultar más difÃcil que de otras.
Consideraciones especiales:
Las personas a las que se les ha extirpado el bazo ( esplenectomÃa ) siempre tendrán un número de glóbulos blancos ligeramente mayor.
Las drogas que pueden incrementar los conteos de GB son, entre otras:
- Alopurinol
- Aspirina
- Cloroformo
- Corticosteroides
- Epinefrina
- Heparina
- Quinina
- Triamtereno
Las drogas que pueden disminuir los conteos de GB son, entre otras:
- Antibióticos
- Anticonvulsivos
- AntihistamÃnicos
- Drogas antitiroideas
- Arsenicales
- Barbitúricos
- Fármacos quimioterapéuticos
- Diuréticos
- Sulfamidas
