Los factores que interfieren con este examen son:

Medicamentos, como glucocorticoides, litio, diuréticos, ketoconazol, estrógenos y antidepresivos tricíclicos
Estrés físico o emocional severo

Nota: debido a estos factores que interfieren, el cortisol en orina a menudo se prueba en tres o más ocasiones separadas para obtener un cuadro más preciso del promedio de producción de cortisol.
