Significado de los resultados anormales:

Es posible que haya una infección del pericardio. Se puede identificar el organismo específico. Asimismo, se pueden realizar otros exámenes (sensibilidad) para determinar cuál es el tratamiento más eficaz.

El examen también se puede llevar a cabo en caso de pericarditis.
