Cultivo de sangre

Valores normales:

Un valor normal significa que no hubo proliferación de bacterias ni otros microorganismos en la caja de Petri.

Nota: los rangos de los valores normales pueden variar ligeramente entre diferentes laboratorios. Hable con el médico acerca del significado de los resultados específicos de su examen.

Significado de los resultados anormales:

Un resultado anormal (positivo) generalmente significa que usted tiene bacterias u otros microorganismos en la sangre, lo cual es un signo de infección.

Sin embargo, la contaminación de la muestra de sangre puede llevar a un resultado falso positivo, lo cual significa que usted no tiene una infección real. El médico puede ayudar a determinar la diferencia.
