No existen riesgos conocidos. No se presenta exposición a la radiación ionizante con este examen. Los procedimientos con radiación ionizante, como las radiografías, conllevan un pequeño riesgo de cáncer y pueden causar daño a los espermatozoides, pero este examen no.

Consideraciones especiales:

En ciertos casos, la ecografía Doppler puede ayudar a identificar el flujo sanguíneo dentro del escroto. Por ejemplo, una ecografía Doppler es muy útil en casos de torsión testicular, debido a que el flujo de sangre al testículo enrollado se puede reducir.
