En ciertos casos, puede ayudar el empleo de la ecografía Doppler para identificar la presencia de flujo sanguíneo en las estructuras dentro del escroto. Por ejemplo, una ecografía Doppler es muy útil en la valoración de una torsión testicular, en la cual el flujo de sangre al testículo enrollado se puede reducir.
