Significado de los resultados anormales:

El examen puede mostrar:

  • Sangrado en el gel transparente que llena el globo ocular entre la retina y el cristalino (hemorragia vítrea)
  • Cáncer de células en la retina ( retinoblastoma) o cáncer por debajo de la retina u otras partes del ojo ( melanoma)
  • Tejido dañado (lesiones) en la cavidad ósea que protege el ojo (órbita)
  • Cuerpos extraños
  • Separación de la retina de la parte posterior del ojo (desprendimiento de retina)
  • Hinchazón (inflamación)
