Tomografía del tórax - Overview

Definición:

Es una imagen del área torácica creada moviendo un equipo de rayos X en una dirección, mientras que la película de registro se mueve en la otra dirección. Este método vuelve borrosas las estructuras que están al frente y por detrás del área del tórax que se está estudiando. Esto permite una vista más detallada de un nivel específico dentro de la cavidad torácica.

Forma en que se realiza el examen:

El examen lo lleva a cabo un técnico en rayos en la sala de radiología de un hospital. A usted se le pide acostarse boca arriba sobre una mesa de rayos X y no debe moverse durante el examen, ya que esto afectará la calidad de la imagen.

Preparación para el examen:

Coméntele al médico si se encuentra embarazada. Durante el procedimiento, usted tiene que llevar puesta una bata hospitalaria y debe quitarse todas las joyas.

Lo que se siente durante el examen:

Generalmente no hay molestia asociada con la tomografía.
