Cuáles son los riesgos:

Si usted se encuentra embarazada o en período de lactancia, el médico puede aplazar el examen para prevenir la exposición del bebé a los medicamentos y radioisótopos utilizados. Existen ciertos riesgos involucrados con los inhibidores IECA y las mujeres embarazadas no los deben tomar.

La cantidad de radiactividad en la inyección es muy pequeña y prácticamente toda actividad desaparece del organismo en cuestión de 24 horas.

Las reacciones a los materiales utilizados durante este examen son poco comunes, pero pueden abarcar erupción, hinchazón o anafilaxia.

Los riesgos de una punción con aguja son leves pero pueden incluir infección y sangrado.

Consideraciones especiales:

La exactitud de este examen se puede reducir en personas que ya presentan enfermedad renal. Hable con el médico para determinar si este examen es apropiado en su caso. Las alternativas para este examen son una resonancia magnética o una angiografía por tomografía computarizada.
