Cuáles son los riesgos:

Existe un riesgo muy leve de enrojecimiento e inflamación severos del brazo en personas que ya han tenido previamente una prueba de PPD positiva y quienes se someten a la prueba de nuevo. También se han presentado unos cuantos casos de esta reacción en personas que no habían sido evaluadas antes.

Consideraciones especiales:

Una prueba cutánea positiva no necesariamente significa que una persona tenga tuberculosis activa y se llevarán a cabo más exámenes para verificar si la enfermedad activa está presente. Muchas personas que nacieron por fuera de los Estados Unidos pueden haber recibido una vacuna llamada "BCG", que puede llevar a un resultado falso positivo en la prueba.
