Riesgos:

No existen riesgos. No se emite ninguna electricidad a través del cuerpo, de manera que no existe riesgo de shock.

Consideraciones:

La precisión del electrocardiograma depende de la afección que se esté evaluando. Un problema cardíaco no siempre aparece en el ECG y algunas afecciones cardíacas nunca producen ningún cambio específico en éste.

Si usted ha tenido un ataque cardíaco o tiene cardiopatía puede necesitar más de un ECG. El médico le dirá cuándo necesita el siguiente.

No hay razón para que las personas saludables se practiquen chequeos anuales con ECG, a menos que tengan antecedentes familiares o personales de cardiopatías específicas u otros trastornos que afecten el corazón.
