Colonoscopia - Risks

Riesgos:

Sangrado profuso o persistente del sitio de la biopsia o de los sitios de extirpación de los pólipos
Agujero o ruptura en la pared del colon (perforación intestinal) que requiere una reparación quirúrgica
Desequilibrio de líquidos en el cuerpo debido a enemas y laxantes administrados antes del procedimiento
Infección que requiere terapia antibiótica (muy rara)
Náuseas, vómitos, distensión o irritación rectal causada por medicamentos orales para limpiar los intestinos
Reacción a los sedantes, que causa problemas respiratorios o presión arterial baja

No olvide comentarle al médico si usted tiene un antecedente de insuficiencia cardíaca congestiva, nefropatía o cirrosis.

Consideraciones:

Usted debe firmar una autorización. Se recomiendan varias horas de reposo después del examen. Hidrátese mucho después del examen para reponer los líquidos perdidos debido a los laxantes y al ayuno.
