Riesgos:

Existe una pequeña posibilidad de perforación (orificios) del estómago, el duodeno o el esófago, al igual que un pequeño riesgo de sangrado en el sitio de la biopsia. Un paciente podría presentar una reacción adversa al anestésico, al medicamento o al tranquilizante. Esta reacción podría causar:

  • Apnea (falta de respiración)
  • Bradicardia
  • Sudoración excesiva
  • Hipotensión (presión arterial baja)
  • Laringoespasmo (espasmo de la laringe)
  • Depresión respiratoria (dificultad para respirar)

El riesgo general es menos de 1 caso por cada 1.000 personas.
