Riesgos:

Las complicaciones son poco comunes pero pueden abarcar:

  • Sangrado excesivo del sitio de la biopsia
  • Orificio en el intestino (perforación intestinal)
  • Infección del sitio de la biopsia que conduce a bacteriemia
  • Vómitos, seguido de bronco aspiración

Consideraciones especiales:

Los factores que inhiben el uso de este examen pueden abarcar:

  • Pacientes confundidos o poco colaboradores
  • Trastornos de coagulación sanguínea no tratados
  • Uso de aspirina u otros medicamentos que impiden la coagulación normal de la sangre (anticoagulantes)
