Valores normales:

No hay defectos en los cromosomas

Significado de los resultados anormales:

La amniocentesis se puede emplear para diagnosticar en el bebé un gran número de problemas genéticos y cromosómicos. Además, puede ayudar a:

Determinar qué tan bien se han desarrollado los pulmones del bebé
Diagnosticar anomalías congénitas del tubo neural (como la espina bífida)
Diagnosticar incompatibilidad Rh

La prueba de ADN está disponible para muchas de las enfermedades que se pueden detectar durante la amniocentesis. Consulte con el obstetra o el genetista si tiene una inquietud acerca de una enfermedad específica.
