Significado de los resultados anormales:

En los casos de miastenia grave, los músculos mejoran inmediatamente después de administrar el Tensilon. El beneficio máximo sólo dura varios minutos.

En una crisis miasténica (empeoramiento de la enfermedad que requiere una terapia de anticolinesterasa), hay una mejoría breve en la fuerza muscular.

En una crisis colinérgica (sobredosis de anticolinesterasa), el Tensilon exagera la debilidad muscular.

Una de las afecciones adicionales bajo las cuales se puede realizar este examen es el síndrome de Lambert-Eaton.
