Biopsia de la médula ósea
Un resultado normal significa que la médula ósea contiene los tipos y números apropiados de células productoras de sangre (hematopoyéticas), adipocitos y tejidos conectivos.
Los resultados anormales pueden deberse a cánceres de la médula ósea (leucemia o enfermedad de Hodgkin).
Con los resultados, se puede detectar la causa de anemia (insuficiencia de glóbulos rojos), glóbulos blancos anormales o trombocitopenia (insuficiencia de plaquetas).
