Fibrilación ventricular - Prevention

Prevención:

Un desfibrilador cardioversor implantable (DCI) puede ayudar a prevenir episodios futuros de fibrilación ventricular en algunos pacientes. Otros pueden necesitar medicamentos para controlar los latidos cardíacos.

Muchos lugares públicos y aviones ahora están equipados con desfibriladores automáticos externos para uso en caso de emergencia. Las personas también pueden comprar estos equipos y mantenerlos en el hogar. Se ha demostrado que los desfibriladores salvan vidas. Otra opción para el uso individual es un chaleco desfibrilador.

Es una buena idea para los miembros de la familia y amigos tanto de los sobrevivientes de la fibrilación ventricular como de los pacientes con cardiopatía en general tomar un curso en reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP). Estos cursos están disponibles a través de la Cruz Roja, los hospitales o la Asociación Estadounidense del Corazón (American Heart Association ).
