Fibrilación ventricular

Una persona que presenta un episodio de fibrilación ventricular súbitamente se desmayará o quedará inconsciente, debido a que el cerebro y los músculos han dejado de recibir sangre desde el corazón.

La fibrilación ventricular es una afección de emergencia y, por lo tanto, se debe buscar asistencia médica de inmediato.

Puede ser difícil o imposible sentir el pulso en el cuello y el área inguinal y la persona no reacciona. El médico auscultará el corazón con un dispositivo llamado estetoscopio. Es posible que no se escuchen los latidos cardíacos o que éstos puedan ser muy irregulares.

Un monitor cardíaco mostrará un ritmo cardíaco desorganizado.
