Después del procedimiento:

Usted probablemente se irá para la casa el mismo día de la cirugía. Tal vez tenga que usar una abrazadera de rodilla y posiblemente también necesite muletas durante las primeras 1 a 4 semanas. A la mayoría de las personas se les permite mover la rodilla inmediatamente después de la cirugía para ayudar a prevenir la rigidez. Se puede necesitar medicamento para manejar el dolor.

La fisioterapia puede ayudar a muchas personas a recobrar el movimiento y la fuerza en la rodilla. La terapia puede durar de 2 a 6 meses.

Qué tan pronto retorne usted a trabajar dependerá del tipo de labor que realice. Puede ser en cualquier momento desde unos días hasta unos meses. Retornar por completo a las actividades y a los deportes por lo regular toma de 4 a 6 meses.
