Prevención:

Dado que los hematomas generalmente son el resultado directo de una lesión, las siguientes son recomendaciones de seguridad importantes:

Enseñarle a los niños normas de seguridad.
Estar atento para evitar caídas alrededor de la casa. Por ejemplo, tener cuidado al subir escaleras u otros objetos y evitar pararse o arrodillarse en los mostradores.
Usar cinturones de seguridad en los vehículos de motor.
Utilizar el equipo apropiado para la práctica de deportes con el fin de forrar esas áreas en donde son más frecuentes los hematomas (almohadillas para los muslos, protectores de cadera y codilleras en el fútbol americano y el hockey; espinilleras y rodilleras en el fútbol y el baloncesto).
