Gangrena
SÃntomas:
Los sÃntomas dependen de la localización y causa de la gangrena. Si el área afectada involucra la piel o está cerca a ésta, los sÃntomas pueden ser:
- Decoloración (azul o negra si la piel está afectada; roja o bronce si el área afectada está por debajo de la piel).
- Pérdida de la sensibilidad que puede ocurrir después de dolor severo en el área.
- Secreción maloliente.
Si el área afectada es interna, como en el caso de gangrena de la vesÃcula biliar o la gangrena gaseosa , los sÃntomas pueden ser:
- Dolor persistente o severo
- Fiebre
- Gases en los tejidos bajo la piel
- Sensación general de malestar
- Shock séptico
Signos y exámenes:
El médico puede diagnosticar gangrena a partir de un examen fÃsico. Además, se pueden llevar a cabo los siguientes exámenes y procedimientos para diagnosticar una gangrena:
- Exámenes de sangre: un conteo sanguÃneo completo puede mostrar un conteo alto de glóbulos blancos (GB)
- RadiografÃas
- TomografÃa computarizada para condiciones internas tales como un dolor abdominal
- Exploración quirúrgica para confirmar y tratar la gangrena
- Examen microscópico de tejido para buscar células muertas
- Cultivo de tejido o fluidos de las heridas para identificar la infección bacteriana
- Un arteriograma para ayudar al plan de tratamiento para la enfermedad vascular
