Después del procedimiento:

El médico o la enfermera le pedirán levantarse y dar una vuelta tan pronto como el efecto de la anestesia desaparezca. La mayoría de las personas se van para la casa el mismo día de cirugía. NO conduzca usted mismo hasta la casa.

Pronóstico:

La mayoría de las personas presentan alivio del dolor y pueden moverse mejor después de la cirugía. El entumecimiento y el hormigueo deben mejorar o desaparecer. El dolor, el entumecimiento o la debilidad pueden no mejorar o desaparecer si usted tenía daño neurológico antes de la cirugía o si tiene síntomas causados por otras afecciones de la columna.

Se pueden dar cambios adicionales en la columna con el tiempo y presentarse nuevos síntomas.

Hable con el médico sobre cómo prevenir problemas futuros de la espalda.
