Influenza aviaria - Symptom

Gripe aviar o aviaria; H5N1

Síntomas:

Los síntomas de la infección por gripe aviaria en los humanos dependen de la cepa del virus.

La infección con el virus H5N1 en humanos causa síntomas seudogripales clásicos, que podrían abarcar:

Tos (seca o productiva).
Diarrea.
Dificultad respiratoria.
Fiebre superior a 100.4° F (38° C).
Dolor de cabeza.
Malestar general.
Dolores musculares.
Rinorrea.
Dolor de garganta.

Pruebas y exámenes:

Si usted sospecha que ha estado expuesto a la influenza aviaria, llame al médico antes de la consulta, ya que esto le dará la oportunidad al personal de tomar las precauciones apropiadas que los protegerán a ellos y a otros pacientes durante su visita.

Existen exámenes para identificar la gripe aviaria pero no están ampliamente disponibles. Un examen para diagnosticar las cepas de gripe aviaria en personas sospechosas de tener el virus arroja resultados preliminares en 4 horas, mientras que los exámenes antiguos tardaban de 2 a 3 días.

El médico también podría llevar a cabo los siguientes exámenes:

Auscultación (para detectar ruidos respiratorios anormales)
Radiografía de tórax
Cultivo nasofaríngeo
Fórmula leucocitaria

Se pueden realizar otros exámenes para controlar el funcionamiento del corazón, los riñones y el hígado.
