Expectativas después de la cirugía:

Los efectos de la radiocirugía pueden tomar semanas o meses para verse. El médico vigilará el progreso de la persona utilizando estudios imagenológicos, tales como imágenes por resonancia magnética y tomografías computarizadas.

Convalecencia:

La recuperación depende de muchos factores, incluyendo la salud general de la persona y la afección que se esté tratando. Si el paciente tiene el marco estereotáctico, se quitan los ganchos que lo mantienen en su lugar. La persona puede sentir algo de molestia en el lugar donde solían estar dichos ganchos, pero se pueden colocar vendajes en dichos sitios.

La mayoría de las personas regresan a sus actividades regulares al día siguiente, en caso de que no haya complicaciones como hinchazón. Algunos pacientes deben quedarse hospitalizados de un día para otro con el fin de hacerles un control.
