Expectativas después de la cirugía:

Es necesario que la persona visite al odontólogo después del procedimiento con el fin de asegurarse de que la infección haya desaparecido. Se puede tomar una radiografía dental. Igualmente, son necesarios los chequeos dentales regulares que, en los adultos, generalmente significa una visita al odontólogo dos veces al año.

Convalecencia:

Se puede presentar algo de dolor e inflamación después del procedimiento. Un medicamento antinflamatorio, como ibuprofeno o naproxeno, puede ayudar a aliviar la molestia.

La mayoría de las personas pueden retornar a sus rutinas normales al día siguiente. Hasta que el diente esté permanentemente lleno o cubierto con una corona, la persona debe evitar el masticado tosco en el área.
