Los bebés con hipoglucemia pueden no presentar síntomas, pero si en verdad ocurren, pueden abarcar los siguientes:
A los recién nacidos en riesgo de sufrir hipoglucemia se les debe practicar un examen de sangre con intervalos de pocas horas después del nacimiento con el fin de medir los niveles de azúcar en la sangre. El médico debe seguir practicando los exámenes de sangre hasta que el nivel de azúcar en la sangre del bebé sea normal.
