Los riesgos por el cerclaje gástrico son:

  • Deterioro de la banda gástrica a través del estómago (si esto sucede, se debe retirar)
  • La banda gástrica puede salirse parcialmente del lugar
  • Gastritis (inflamación del revestimiento del estómago), acidez gástrica o úlceras estomacales
  • Infección en el puerto de acceso, lo cual puede requerir antibióticos o cirugía
  • Lesión en el estómago, los intestinos u otros órganos durante la cirugía
  • Nutrición deficiente
  • Cicatrización dentro del abdomen, lo cual podría llevar a un bloqueo intestinal
