Los riesgos para la reconstrucción de la mama con tejido natural son:

  • Pérdida de la sensibilidad alrededor del pezón y la areola.
  • Cicatriz notoria.
  • Una mama es más grande que la otra (asimetría de las mamas).
  • Pérdida de piel o heridas crónicas en la pared torácica.

También hay un riesgo de sangrado en el área donde estaba la mama. Algunas veces, se necesita una segunda operación para controlar este sangrado.
