Prueba de ácido úrico

La prueba de ácido úrico se realiza para determinar la cantidad de ácido úrico presente en la orina. Se recoge orina durante un período de 24 horas y luego se envía al laboratorio para ser examinada. Por lo general, los niveles de ácido úrico se miden para diagnosticar o tratar la gota, debido a que esta condición es causada por la cristalización del ácido úrico en las articulaciones. Algunos cálculos renales también pueden estar compuestos de ácido úrico.
