El ultrasonido en el embarazo

La ecografía o ultrasonido se ha convertido en un procedimiento estándar que se utiliza durante el embarazo. Dicho procedimiento puede mostrar el crecimiento fetal y detectar un número creciente de afecciones, tales como meningomielocele, cardiopatías congénitas, anomalías renales, hidrocefalia, anencefalia, pie zambo y otras deformidades. Este procedimiento no produce radiación ionizante, por lo que se considera un método muy seguro tanto para la madre como para el feto.
