< Atras La hepatitis activa crónica es una enfermedad del hígado causada por infecciones, consumo de drogas y trastornos metabólicos o autoinmunes. La necrosis (muerte) de las células hepáticas, la inflamación y la fibrosis pueden ocasionar la insuficiencia hepática. Del 40 al 50% de los pacientes muere 5 años después de presentarse esta enfermedad.
