Existen muchas posibles causas para la aparición de protuberancias en los senos. La mayoría de protuberancias de este tipo es benigna, como lo es el fibroadenoma, una condición que afecta en su mayoría a las mujeres menores de 30 años. Los abscesos de seno suelen ocurrir por la lactancia.
