< Atras La aterosclerosis es una enfermedad de las arterias en la cual el material graso se deposita en la pared de estos vasos sanguíneos y ocasiona un deterioro progresivo y una reducción del flujo sanguíneo. Esta restricción del flujo sanguíneo desde las arterias hasta el músculo cardíaco conduce a síntomas como dolor torácico. Los síntomas de la aterosclerosis no se manifiestan hasta que se produce una complicación.
