< Atras El dúplex de carótida es un procedimiento de ultrasonido utilizado para evaluar el flujo sanguíneo que va desde la arteria carótida al cerebro. Las ondas sonoras de alta frecuencia son dirigidas al área desde una sonda transductora que se manipula manualmente. Estas ondas reproducen las estructuras arteriales y producen una imagen de doble dimensión en un monitor, en el cual se pueden visualizar obstrucciones o estrechamiento de las arterias.
