Trombo

El trombo es un coágulo sanguíneo que se forma en un vaso y permanece allí. La embolia es un coágulo que se desplaza desde el sitio donde se formó a otro lugar en el cuerpo. El trombo o embolia puede producirse en un vaso sanguíneo y obstruir el flujo sanguíneo en ese lugar, impidiendo el suministro de oxígeno y flujo sanguíneo a los tejidos circundantes. Esto puede ocasionar un daño, destrucción (infarto) e incluso la muerte o necrosis de los tejidos que se encuentran en esa área.
