Injerto de piel

El injerto de piel es un procedimiento quirúrgico en el cual se trasplanta una porción de piel de un área a otra. Con frecuencia, se toma la piel de áreas no afectadas en la persona lesionada y se utiliza para cubrir un defecto, casi siempre una quemadura. Si el área donde se encuentra el defecto en la piel es especialmente grande, la piel obtenida puede ser distribuida para hacer un parche más grande. Si el defecto implica una pérdida grande de tejido, puede ser necesario un injerto más profundo con porciones de piel con músculo subyacente y vasos sanguíneos. Tomar el injerto de la propia persona lesionada reduce la posibilidad del rechazo del tejido.
