Defectos genéticos recesivos ligados al X - Cómo se ven afectados los niños

Existen varios trastornos genéticos recesivos asociados al cromosoma X, tales como la hemofilia y la distrofia muscular. éstos se heredan a través de un defecto genético en el cromosoma X. La mujer tiene dos cromosomas X, uno heredado de su madre y otro del padre. El hombre posee un cromosoma X procedente de su madre y un cromosoma Y heredado del padre. Si un niño recibe el cromosoma X de su madre, la herencia de la anomalía relacionada con esa copia del cromosoma X será la causa del defecto.
