Mediastino:

Una mediastinoscopia es un procedimiento en el cual se inserta un instrumento con luz (mediastinoscopio) a través de una incisión en el cuello para examinar visualmente las estructuras en la parte superior de la cavidad torácica y tomar muestras de tejido. Este procedimiento se puede utilizar para tomar una biopsia de los ganglios linfáticos que rodean la vía respiratoria con el fin de ayudar a diagnosticar o ver qué tan lejos se ha diseminado una enfermedad particular.
