Araña viuda negra

La hembra de la viuda negra se reconoce fácilmente por su cuerpo negro brillante y la marca de reloj de arena rojo por debajo de todo el abdomen. Aunque la viuda negra se puede encontrar en casi todos los estados, son más comunes en las áreas del sur de los Estados Unidos. Esta araña hace su hogar en pilas de madera, debajo de aleros y otros lugares tranquilos y su mordedura puede ser grave y requerir atención médica. Los síntomas incluyen dolor que se irradia desde el sitio de la mordedura, náuseas, dolor generalizado en todo cuerpo, sudoración copiosa y dificultad para respirar.
