Suturas:

Las suturas se utilizan principalmente si la cortadura tiene más de un cuarto de pulgada de profundidad, si es en la cara o si llega hasta el hueso. Las suturas ayudan a mantener juntos los bordes de las heridas de tal manera que puedan cicatrizar apropiadamente y se retiran entre 3 y 14 días después de haber sido colocadas, dependiendo del área del cuerpo afectada. Las suturas en la cara se pueden retirar entre 3 y 5 días, pero en áreas de alto estrés como las manos, los codos y las rodillas deben permanecer de 10 a 14 días.
