Folículo piloso:

Cada cabello descansa sobre una cavidad de la piel denominada folículo. Con el paso del tiempo, el folículo puede contraerse haciendo que el cabello se acorte y se vuelva más delgado. Comúnmente, el cabello debe volver a crecer, pero en los hombres que están sufriendo el proceso de calvicie, el cabello cesa su crecimiento en los folículos muy pequeños. La causa de la calvicie aún no está bien entendida, pero se cree que está relacionada con los genes y con las hormonas sexuales masculinas del individuo.
