Tronco arterial

Normalmente, la aorta se origina en el ventrículo izquierdo y la arteria pulmonar en el ventrículo derecho. En el tronco arterial, ambos vasos se combinan en uno solo. Generalmente, también se presenta un agujero entre los dos ventrículos. Como resultado, la sangre desoxigenada y la sangre oxigenada se mezclan por completo. Esto hace que demasiada sangre sea enviada a los pulmones y que no haya suficiente sangre oxigenada llegando al corazón y al resto del cuerpo.
