El pénfigo vulgar es una enfermedad autoinmune en la cual el sistema inmunitario del organismo ataca a algunas de las proteínas de la piel y con frecuencia afecta a las personas mayores o de mediana edad. Esta fotografía muestra un primer plano de la formación de ampollas en la espalda de un paciente, la mayoría de las cuales se han roto (denudado), lo cual es común, ya que son frágiles.
