< Atras La erupción cutánea de forma redondeada o en disco (discoide) producida por el lupus genera placas elevadas, rojas y descamativas, en las cuales los poros (folículos pilosos) pueden estar taponados; además, las lesiones más antiguas sufren cicatrización. La mayoría de los individuos que padecen lupus discoide (el 90%) presenta solamente trastornos cutáneos, en comparación con quienes sufren lupus eritematoso sistémico, el cual afecta otras áreas en general.
