Las glándulas suprarrenales son glándulas endocrinas que están situadas inmediatamente sobre los riñones. Para practicar una biopsia suprarrenal se hace una incisión quirúrgica en el abdomen y se extrae una pequeña muestra de tejido, la cual es enviada al patólogo para que la examine. Por lo general, la biopsia se realiza cuando se encuentra un tumor o masa sospechosa en una o ambas glándulas suprarrenales.
